"Lawyers should be peacemakers." I read this quote as a law student and it became a part of my philosophy. I practice family law from a perspective that helps bring resolution to conflict in the most honorable and cost efficient manner possible. At the forefront of family law is the welfare and safety of children. Using mediation and negotiation to settle conflicts often results in keeping families out of court. I learned to mediate and negotiate while attending Pepperdine University School of Law (J.D. 1988), which continues to be one of the premier Alternative Dispute Resolution programs in the nation.
